Lady Gaga returned to her dance music roots this year with the release of her smash-hit album, Chromatica. But the artist isn’t done exploring the colorful Chromatica universe.
Gaga is now teaming up with Apple Music for a weekly radio show. “Gaga Radio” will feature conversations with some of dance music’s biggest “DJs, divas, and producers,” and will be a place to debut original music from some of her friends. The first episode will drop this Friday.
Sneak Peak of First Episode
Apple has described the show as an outgrowth of Chromatica. Fittingly, Gaga’s first guest will be BloodPop, one of the producers behind the album. The two will reminisce about the making of Chromatica, and the “challenges that came along with it,” which, according to the show’s description, included “depression and self-doubt.”
New episodes will be available every Friday at 2 PM. You can listen to a brief preview of the first episode here.
Singular Global Community
Gaga says that the radio show is the result of sheltering at home, but feeling a need to connect with her fans. “The last few weeks I’ve been figuring out different ways at home that I can be of service to what I would call the singular global community,” the artist said in a statement. “And so,” Gaga continued, “I’ve been thinking of all the ways that I can be someone that contributes to the society and the world. I’m super thrilled, excited to have this show and this opportunity to play an incredible mix of music every week.”
